INVITATION
COMMUNITY MEETING
Attention Businesses and Residents:
Pima County
has contracted with Psomas Inc. to manage a sewer project in your area
and that will be performed by KE&G Construction Company to perform the
work under contract with the County.
This project
will include the installation of new sewer lines and manholes, the
removal of existing sewer lines and underground bursting of other
abandoned sewer lines (pipe bursting is the underground destruction of
existing sewer lines without the need for continuous excavation). These
activities are necessary in preparation for the abandonment of the
Capstan Pump Lift Station and the corresponding sewer pressure main
which has been in operation since the 1980s.
This project
will impact access to some properties and streets, and in a very few
cases, will require that work be performed inside residential yards and
in locations where private brick/concrete walls exist. Those property
owners who will be impacted to this degree will be contacted
individually.
Over the
course of the project, there will be a significant presence of large
construction vehicles, equipment and machinery. Water trucks will be
used to minimize dust. All work will take place north of Hawser Road
from North Twin Lakes Drive and proceeding along North Starboard Drive
to the existing Capstan Pump Lift Station.
Construction
conditions you can expect include:
- Construction-related noise and dust.
- Construction activity between 6:00 AM and
5:00 PM, Monday through Friday unless you are otherwise
notified.
No
interruption of water or sewer service is anticipated.
You are
invited to a public meeting where details of this project will be
presented. Contractors and Pima County staff will be on hand to discuss
the project, answer any questions and respond to concerns. The meeting
will be held at:
Coronado
K-8 School
Multi-Purpose Room
